Do you believe in miracles? Rather, have you ever asked the universe to create a miracle for you? Like Aamir Khan inspired the ‘little boy’ in Taare Zameen Par to do the unexpected or why even Kirron Kher advises Shah Rukh Khan to try the ‘power of miracles’ in Om Shanti Om, if you desire something, then the universe will set it in motion.
Did you know modern-day miracles can be learned? Look around, there’s a miracle happening every second. Every time the unexpected happens, pinch yourself. It’s a miracle. Says Tarot card reader, Ma Prem Usha, "Miracles happen everyday. Only we’re oblivious to them. What is a miracle? When something happens without your having to do anything about it, but there’s a desire for it to happen. Miracles can be ordinary and extraordinary. I see it happening to people every now and then. I was in a bad accident sometime back, my car was crushed. But I didn’t even get a scratch. For me, that was a miracle. I got saved. I’ve seen miracles in love, disease and careers."
Take this, there’s a miracle happening every second. The more you’ll attract miracles, the more they’ll happen. Modern-day medical miracle stories are unbelievable. They make us hope the unexpected will come true. Says Dr Bipin Swaran Walia, neurosurgeon at Max Healthcare, "I’ve seen some unbelievable miracle stories in medicine. There was an agricultural scientist who was suffering from multiple brain tumours. He went to the US. The doctors there gave him a few weeks to live. He wanted to die in India, so he came back. I saw his scan and knew his end was very near. Then he called me six months later, saying ‘I’m alive’. And then a year later, he was still around. Now recently, his tumour has vanished. Harvard asked him to send them his case studies. His miracle cannot be explained. "
The magic of miracles is being rediscovered. Several websites like miraclemakersclub.com or makeyourmiracle.com are inspiring everyone to create a miracle in their life. In fact, beginning this year, ‘Oprah Winfrey & Friends’ will begin a ‘Course in Miracles’. According to Marianne Williamson, author of A Course in Miracles and the lady who inspired Oprah, says, "I feel every individual can create miracles. What everyone needs to do is just train your mind in a systematic way to a different perception of everyone and everything. Visualisation is a powerful tool. Remember, miracles are thought-creations."
Don’t believe that a miracle can’t happen to you, and it’s something that happens to others. Till now, the word miracle has been applied to intuition, magic, hope, winning a lottery. But basic miracles happen daily. "The more you attract them into your life, the more you’ll have them. Miracle is a belief. Just paint a blank canvas with your dreams if you want the unexpected to happen. Meditate and visualise. Keeping the faith, that’s miracle," says make-your-miracle believer Poonam Verma.
Miracles open a world of limitless possibilities. You’re sending a new, positive vibration to the universe. APJ Abdul Kalam, former President, agrees, "I always believe in miracles. So, I visualise dreams. Miracles possess electromagnetic energy. Desire and dreams together create a new energy every night as the mind falls into the sleep state. Each morning, dreams return to the conscious state reinforced with the cosmic currents. The fulfillment of dreams is a miracle."
